Making a batch
One form asks what is in the pile, and then you drop the scans in.
New batch on Batches opens one form. What you set here applies to every card in the batch, and you can change any single card later.
- Pick the Category. For a card game, pick the language too.
- Say whether the scans are fronts only or fronts and backs.
- Name the batch, or leave it blank.
- Drop the scans in.
Everything else on the form is optional. The prices, the condition and the card details are covered in Batch settings, which is the same form again on a batch you already made.
The batch name is optional. Leave it blank and we name the batch from the category, the language and the day, like "Pokemon (English), 10 Sept". The field shows that name before you start.
Press Save these settings to keep the whole form under a name. Saved settings sit at the top of the form, so the next batch of the same kind is one click.
With the online and in-person split on, the form also asks Where these sell. Online is the default. It is a label, and it changes nothing about listing.
Category
Category is the game or the sport, and a card game also asks for the language. It decides which catalog we check your card against, so a wrong answer means we cannot confirm the card.
The language you pick is the language every card in the batch is read, matched and priced in. Keep one language per batch. A Japanese card in an English batch is read as English.
Change it on one card later from the card panel.
Which sides you scanned
- Scan a card game fronts only, because every back is the same.
- Scan a sports card on both sides, because the back holds the number, the set and the year.
Fronts and backs pairs each scan with the next one. Drop them as front, back, front, back.
On a card game a scanner that puts the back first is fine. We read which side each scan shows and turn the pair round.
On a sports card batch, one back landing first makes every pair after it wrong.
What is in this batch
You can tell us the sets you expect and the finishes you expect. It is optional, and a wrong answer here does no harm, because what is printed on the card always wins.
Batch size
A batch holds as many cards as your plan scans in a day. The number is on Plan and billing.
Split a bigger pile into two batches. Nothing else changes.
