Which games we read

We know nineteen card games by name, and the category on the batch decides how every card in it is read.

A card game card carries its name, number and usually its set on the front. We read the front once and check it against a catalog.

The batch decides the read

The category you pick on the batch form says which game every card in the batch is. We read each scan once, as that game.

Nothing reads a scan a second time. A card we read as the wrong game has an error, and you fix it on the card.

Known by name

We know these games by name. They are Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, One Piece, Digimon, Dragon Ball Super, Flesh and Blood, Star Wars Unlimited, Weiss Schwarz, Cardfight!! Vanguard, Union Arena, Shadowverse Evolve, Final Fantasy TCG, Grand Archive, Alpha Clash, Gundam Card Game, Battle Spirits Saga and Riftbound.

Each of them has a TCGplayer market price per printing, so a price is there the moment the card is read.

The rows on the card panel

Every card game card has Kind, Rarity, Finish and Condition rows, in that game’s own words. A batch of slabs adds a Graded row.

Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Flesh and Blood add an Edition row. Pokémon adds a Stamp row.

A game that prints two cards at one set and number, like One Piece or Digimon, adds a Version row on those cards. See the Details rows.

A card from another game

A card that reads as a different game from its batch has an error. The panel says "This looks like a One Piece card and the batch is Pokémon."

Press Pick a category and pick the card’s own game. We match and price it as that game, and nothing reads the scan again.
