Connecting Shopify

You make a custom app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard and enter its Client ID and Client secret here.

Where the Client ID and Client secret come from

1. Open the Dev Dashboard and create an app.
2. In the app version, enter the scopes write_products, read_locations, write_inventory and read_orders.
3. Release the version and install the app on your store.
4. Open the app's Settings and copy the Client ID and the Client secret.
5. On Shopify, enter your store address, the Client ID and the Client secret.

We check all four scopes when you connect, and the app names any that are missing. write_products creates the product. read_locations and write_inventory let Auto Sold Sync move stock. read_orders lets Auto Sold Sync see a sale.

A Dev Dashboard token lasts 24 hours, so we ask Shopify for a fresh one each day with your Client ID and Client secret.

An app made before 2026

An app made in the Shopify admin before 2026 has an Admin API access token that never expires. Paste it as the Client secret and leave the Client ID empty.

Cards arrive as draft products. Nothing shows on your storefront until you make it live in Shopify.
