Checking a price yourself

This page shows how to check a price yourself with the eBay and Google links on every card.

Open on eBay sits on the Market price row of every card. Press it and eBay opens in a new tab, already searching for your card. We build that search from the card name, the set, the number and the finish you picked.

Change the finish or the edition and the search changes with it. Search Google sits beside it and asks Google for the same card.

Both links appear on every card we read a name from, whether or not we could price it.

The sales behind a price

A card we priced from eBay sales carries a Show sales button beside Open on eBay. Press it and we list the sales we used.

Read each sale and tick the ones that really are your card. Tick even one and we work the price out from your ticked sales alone.

A card priced from TCGplayer has no Show sales button, because we did not use eBay sales for it. Press Open on eBay to look at that market yourself.

A line reading "40 of 47 shown" means we used all 47 sales in the price. We sent 40 of them to your browser. We did not throw the other seven out.

How sure we are

• Priced from sales means we matched enough sales of your exact card.
• Priced from TCGplayer means we used the TCGplayer market price for your printing.
• Estimate means we built the price from what is on sale now rather than from what sold.

A pill on the Price section names the source, and its colour says how sure we are. Check an Estimate yourself before you list the card.

When we price a card again

We price a card once. We price it again only when the finish, the edition, the card, the set, the number or the language changes.

Picking the same card again keeps the price you already have. We fetch nothing, so the number does not drift while you check your work.
